MobilePad is a light, speedy text document editor that allows you to create quick notes or long journals for daily activities right on your Windows Mobile Phone. It also provides the ability to exchange files or text messaging by sending the current opened file as SMS or Email to your friends and family. MobilePad is a multitab text editor that allows you to create quick notes or long journals for daily activities right on your Windows Mobile Phone. It also provides the ability to exchange files or text messaging by sending the current opened file as SMS or Email to your friends and family. Also, not only MobilePad allows you to edit TXT files, it can also allow you to edit XML, INI, and LOG files.

Features included:

- Customize Auto-Save
- Send current document as SMS
- Send current document as Email
- Save and Insert custom Signature
- Call or SMS valid highlighted phone number right from your document
- Supported Landscape mode
- Support TXT, XML, INI, and LOG extension
- Allow zooming of text
- Search and Replace capability

Note:

SMS charges depend on your Carrier and Plan.

Currently Working on:

- Handwriting.
- Sorting (suggested by torpie13).
- Adding double tap on tab control to create a new tab (suggested by ag43).
- Insert available contact info into current tab.
- Save selected phone number as a new Contact.
- Finger scrolling (thx torpie13).
- To do list with alert (thx samir_d).
- Adding insert numerical order.
- Adding insert alphabetical order.

Compatibility:

This application should be compatible with all Windows Mobiles 5 and 6 version. I collected most of my test results on QVGA and VGA emulator. Though, I also tested the application on my HTC Touch Diamond running Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional.

@Grumpy, Notepad Mobile mind change your idea regarding poor peformance of .NET CF apps. :) I am pretty sure no developer wants their apps to be slow, but .NET CF has so much overhead that I, as a developer, have realized that one needs to put in extra effort to make .NET CF apps load faster.

If you follow the links to the author's web site, and then to his forum posts at xda-developers.com, you'll be able to download an updated version. I tried Orneta Notepad and found it not even close to as useful as this one, which is freeware, has search & replace, and now even a full-screen option!

I quite like it, although I think it would be useful if future iterations could show the number of characters at the cursor location as in Safenote for Symbian (see image) http://two.xthost.info/garion/mopad.PNG love the sliding zoombar.
