Sorry, I forgot the make one point clear: If you use a proxy which is working fine (no peer resets), you can use "VPN Mobile" with eplus or base as mobile telecommuncation provider in a acceptable performance.

Update for my posting from August 11th 2010 11:57 am: 1. When using a mobile connection (gprs, umts and so on) you should comment out the line "mssfix 1400" 2. If you get error messages like "reset from peer" during the connection setup, cancel the connection setup and try again. IMHO it's a problem of the proxies of the mobile telecommunication providers.

Nice application. It's working fine. Regarding some of the questions here: 1. I don't know "gateProtect", the developer of this software and I don't deal with them, but I'm glad that they have published this software, 2. "VPN mobile" is an OpenVPN-client. Hence you need an OpenVPN server to use it (see http://openvpn.net/). 3. The client is useless if you life in germany and you're using eplus or base as your mobile telecommunication provider. You will be able to connect to your server but the performance will be very, very bad. This is not a problem of OpenVPN or the client. It's caused by the stripped down internet access provided by most of the german mobile telecommunication providers. 3. The following configuration is a working OpenVPN server configuration for this client. In order to use it, you need your own (private) CA, a server certificate for the OpenVPN server, a key for the OpenVPN server and a client certificate for your roadwarrior (this is the system using "VPN mobile"). The local network (LAN) in this configuration is 192.168.0.0/24. The OpenVPN server uses the internal ip address 192.168.0.249 and the ip address 192.168.220.1 (server) and 192.168.220.2 (road warrior) will be used for the OpenVPN connection. === cut here === ;dev tap dev tun1 # You need a public ip address, too.
